Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send a pair of top women's bantamweight contenders to the cage when Sarah Kaufman and Shayna Baszler square off at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Nations" live finale, which takes place on April 16, 2014, inside Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City, Canada, on FOX Sports 1.
UFC announced the booking earlier today.
Kaufman (16-2) has been in the headlines these past few days thanks to her split-decision loss to Jessica Eye, which was recently overturned and ruled a "no decision" by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (details). Wiping the "Evil" slate clean keeps her in the win column, having last outpointed Leslie Smith at Invicta 5.
And she's facing a familiar foe.
Prior to her stint on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18, where she was thwarted by eventual show winner Julianna Pena, Baszler (15-8) was also doing work under the Invicta FC banner, falling to fellow UFC import Alexis Davis just over a year ago.
Now, the "Queen of Spades" finally gets to make her long-awaited debut inside the Octagon.
TUF: "Nations" finale will be headlined by the Michael Bisping vs. Tim Kennedy grudge match, as well as the co-headliner between season coaches Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke. In addition, tournament champions will be crowned in the welterweight and middleweight divisions.
