Get ready for an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight doubleheader TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 15, 2014) when the world's pre-eminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion returns to Arena Jaragua in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

UFC Fight Night 36, the company's second FOX Sports 1 telecast of its 2014 combat sports campaign, will feature a middleweight main event match-up pitting Lyoto Machida (20-4) vs. Gegard Mousasi (34-3-2), with the winner moving to the top of a very short list of 185-pound title contenders.

Nipping at their heels is the middleweight co-main event that has Ronaldo Souza (19-3) trying to make it six in a row against dangerous up-and-coming prospect Francis Carmont (22-7), who hasn't lost since 2008 and is perfect through a half-dozen fights inside the Octagon.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 36 MAIN CARD PLAY-BY-PLAY RESULTS (FOX SPORTS 1):

185 lbs.: Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi

Round 1: Lyoto Machida goes down in history as only the second fighter to get his hat back after getting it stolen on the walk-in. Yamasaki is our ref for this main event. "Sassy" in blue, Machida in white. This is a hell of a matchup for a free Brazil card. Gegard tries a low kick that Machida moves his shin out of the way of. "Dragon" with a low kick. Body kick slaps for Machida. Mousasi keeping center cage, Lyoto circling. Low kick from Sassy and Machida tried to flurry back, but he missed. Machida leads with a right that connects. The follow up doesn't. Lyoto slashes in with a left. "Moose" with a jab. Sassy tries to load up on a leg kick but can't get it. Machida tries to get in one and he can't land. Machida with a left that hits square. Mousasi with a right. Machida tries to flurry, but Sassy backsteps away. Lyoto kicks the arm.

10-9 Machida

Round 2: Machida opens up first with a nice kick. Low kick lands about 40 seconds in. Moose with an inside kick that's heavy. Machida evades a left. They both flurry and both land lefts. High kick from Machida that lands on the head. He catches it, but is still hurt from it. Hell of a chin from the Armenian who looks like he's not even uncomfortable. Right from Mousasi. Quick head kick again from Machida that just glances on the face of Mouse. Mousasi gets some short rights as they clash together coming forward. There's a nice 1-2 from Sauce. Low kick and a second from Mousasi. Machida misses on a 3-2. Straight right from Mousasi. Slashing leg kick from Gegard to end the round

10-9 Machida, but I could see it going the other way

Round 3: They trade hooks after feeling each other out to open again. Mousasi shoots in and Machida stuffs. Knee from Gegard. A second.  And another. He gets a right on the break in, too. Left from Machida as Mousasi comes in. They clinch and break. Spinning back kick from Lyoto doesn't hit clean, but gets some body. High kick gets blocked by Mousasi. 1-2-head kick hits, but none with full force. Machida tries the step-in knee but doesn't get it in solid. Left and a right from Mousasi now. Step-in knee once more. Machida tries a takedown, but Sassy stuffs it. Machida dancing now, back and forth, but nothing fires.

10-9 Machida

Round 4: Takedown by Mousasi, but Machida scrambles up. Eats a knee for his trouble. Snapping inside leg kick from Sassy. One from Dragon. When he's backpedalling, Mousasi needs to outside leg kick, rather than let him dance away. Machida trip-shoves Mousasi to the ground and follows up into half guard. Mousasi tries to elevate him off, but can't. Left butterfly from Mousasi and he sweeps Machida. Full guard now. Omoplata from Machida. Mousasi defends and gets in a right elbow. Light GNP from Gegard. Mousasi stands and postures. Machida rolls and Mousasi tries to take the back of Machida, but Machida shrugs him, so that he rolls over. Gegard on his back with an upkick, now Machida drops to a knee - and eats another upkick that's blatantly illegal. Yamasaki misses it, but the fighters have both stopped and Mario is forced to acknowledge it. The round ends seconds after the restart.

10-9 Mousasi, but either way.

Round 5: Machida pushing forward, not getting it. Machida with what looks like a Capoiera kick - it doesn't land. Step in knee hits this time. Mousasi chases, gets in a left. Takedown attempt from Mousasi gets reversed and Machida is on top. Half guard. Elbows from bottom for Gegard. Left butterfly again. Punches from bottom here from Sassy is the only activity. Machida tries to pass to mount, but Mousasi rolls. Machida floats over and takes the back. Tries to flatten out the Armenian.30 seconds to go. Mousasi rolls and gets out, but Machida dives back in with a second to go and gets in a nice right.

Final result: Lyoto Machida wins via Unanimous Decision (50-45 x2, 49-46)

Round 1: Carmont in gray, Souza in black/white, Peterson the ref. Souza with a spin kick and Jacare goes to clinch. Jacare gets his back. Body triangle and Carmont is defending the RNC well. They roll and Carmont is on his knees. Souza brings him back to the ground. Souza snakes the arm under the neck and Carmont is trying to survive - and he does. 30 seconds. Carmont gets some backwards punches in and finally rolls to top position as the round ends.

10-9 Souza

Round 2: Low kick from Carmont and he whiffs on a high kick. Low kick and an overhand right from 'Gator who goes into a clinch. Carmont gets Souza off him and circles away. They trade rights. Souza coming forward - a wheel kick glances. Carmont fires back, but Jacare covers. Souza stumbles after a Carmont overhand, but he's back and is fine. Souza glances at his corner. Souza shoots a double and gets a clinch up against the cage. Souza breaks off and they exchange rights. Carmont's looked better there. There's a 1-2 from Carmont. Jabs from Carmont. Body right from Souza lands. Souza tries for a single and can't get it. Knee and a right from the Brazilian on the break.

10-9 Carmont I guess

Round 3:Georges St. Pierre hyping the hell outta Carmont in between rounds. Leg kick from Carmont. Carmont sitting on the outside, potshotting. Left to the body from Jacare. Souza ducks under a shot and gets the takedown. Jacare has back control and is pounding away. He's got the RNC and is trying hard. He lets go and is hitting him with lefts. Side mount. Carmont shrimps and gets a loose half guard. Souza still on top. One hook back in from Jacare. Gator gets an arm around the chin, but doesn't have body control, so he let's go. Souza gets the body triangle as Carmont tried to move. Carmont has a 200-lb man octopus'd onto his back right now. 1:15 left. RNC attempt here. Carmont has the chin down, so Souza let's go. 50 seconds. Carmont desperately rolls, but Souza stays on him. The body triangle is off, but he can't do anything. Another RNC attempt here with a couple seconds left and... lol, Carmont raises his hands. Get outta here, bro.

Final result: Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza wins via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28 x2)

170 lbs.: Takenori Sato vs. Erick Silva

Round 1: Sato in white shorts with black trim, Silva in white spandex, Yamasaki the ref. Feeling out period for the first 30 seconds until Silva lands a body kick and Sato goes for a takedown. Silva stuffs the single leg and starts punching him. Now he's heel kicking him with his free leg. Sato still latched onto the shin of Silva, but that's fine with him - he's got a free punching bag and he's taking full advantage of it. That's about 15 unanswered right hands from Silva and Yamasaki finally stops it the second that Sato lets go of the leg.

Final result: Erick Silva wins via TKO (punches) at 0:52 of round 1

170 lbs.: Viscardi Andrade vs. Nicholas Musoke

Round 1: Andrade in red, Musoke in black, Peterson the ref. Musoke counters a leg kick with a right immediately. Left from Musoke. Andrade with the takedown into full guard. Andrade with a couple good lefts. Two more good ones. Musoke cage walking up, eats a couple more lefts for his trouble before he's up. Jab from the Swede. HUGE overhand from Andrade drops Musoke! Andrade celebrates, but the fight isn't over. Andrade following Musoke down now trying to finish. Musoke throws his legs up for an armbar. Andrade stays out of it and lands some more solid punches. Deep half from Musoke and he stands. 1-1-2 from Musoke, who looks recovered. Jab and a right a couple seconds later from the taller Swede. They trade rights.

10-9 Andrade

Round 2: Teep from Musoke and they clinch just after that. Double unders for Nicholas. He drags the Brazilian down. Anik with the derp, stating that the premature celebration probably didn't cost Andrade. Florian rightfully shoots that down. Andrade stands. He's trying for a trip of his own and can't get it. Right from Musoke. Right and a high kick from Musoke. Musoke is powering punches into Andrade's jaw. Musoke tries for a takedown and gets the double into full guard. Andrade with elbows from bottom. Musoke not doing anything with the top position yet. There we go, he stands and gets in a right. Ow, there's another. He passes the legs away and throws all his weight into it. Hammerfists from the swede with 90 seconds left. Andrade gets some distance but Musoke is on top again with another right. Andrade holding down so he can't posture up. Nice elbow. Make that three elbows. Four. Five.

Round 3: Musoke ducks and gets a left in. There's a right, too. Right from Andrade. Clinch, but they break before anything happens. Jab from Musoke. One from Andrade. Musoke ducks under and tries to get a takedown, but can't. They're on the cage now, and Musoke has a body lock around the back of Andrade. He drags the Brazilian down, but Andrade stands. Takedown. 3 minutes left and Musoke has his back with both hooks in. 2:20 and this is slipping away from Andrade. Body triangle here. Musoke rolls Andrade to his stomach, but Andrade rolls through. They're up against the cage. 1:15 to go with Musoke peppering Andrade with short rights. Last minute here. 40 seconds as Musoke is milking the clock. 20 seconds. 10, and that's the fight. Andrade dun goofed early and Musoke recovered to make him pay.

Final result: Nicholas Musoke wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28 x3)

145 lbs.: Andy Ogle vs. Charles Oliveira

Round 1: Ogle in white, "Aloe Vera" in blue and our ref is Yamasaki. Ogle comes out aggressive to start. Oliveira ducks under to take down the Brit. Mount. CAN WE GET A FINISH?! Charles has the back and a body triangle. He's hunting for a RNC. Punches from the back as Ogle stands. "Do Bronx" gets it back to the ground. Ogle rolls, but Charles is still latched onto him. Oliveira lets go of the body lock to get two hooks in. Not much to talk about here as it's been all Brazilian backpack here. Pretty impressive that Ogle's spent a good 4:40 defending a RNC successfully.

10-8 Oliveira

Round 2: Oliveira with a takedown and tries to get the back, but Ogle manages to reverse and winds up in full guard. Ogle doing nothing as Charles stands. Left from Ogle on the break. Oliveira with a takedown in center cage but Ogle shrimps back to the cage and stands. He eats a knee on the way up. Oliveira gets in a takedown. Ogle tries to reverse but Aloe gets his head and is working hard on a D'arce. Ogle manages to get up and threatens a back-take of his own They clinch. Ogle picks up Oliveira and slams him down. He's not doing much with the half guard he's got, though. He finally goes to GNP and gets put into full guard. Ogle with an elbow. Oliveira fishing for a triangle. Ogle gets in a left. Oliveira rolls and stands. He gets in a huge knee and Ogle falls back downwards. Oliveira on his back and the round ends.

10-9 Oliveira

Round 3: Oliveira gets in a nice shot that floors Ogle. Charles tries for a RNC, but Ogle escapes immediately. Triangle attempt from Do Bronx. Some work on top from Ogle, but not much. Oliveira shoves him back and stands. Charles tries for a takedown, but Ogle is able to stuff it and winds up on top in guard. Not much here. Finally a solid punch gets in. Oliveira with an upkick. Ogle with a left. Triangle here from the Brazilian and HOLY WE'VE GOT A SUBMISSION! Ogle taps and we've got something that really gives the crowd a reason to cheer loudly.

Final result: Charles Oliveira wins via submission (Triangle Choke) at 2:40 of round 3

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 36 UNDER CARD "PRELIMS" PLAY-BY-PLAY RESULTS (FIGHT PASS):

155 lbs.: Cristiano Marcello vs. Joe Proctor

Round 1: I wonder if the dudes are walking out as the decision is being read, because they are ready and going as soon as the last fight is over. Proctor in white, Marcello in red and we get de Medeiros as our third again. Marcello with a leg kick. Proctor with a right. Marcello ducks for a takedown and Proctor counters with a guillotine attempt that Marcello is able to get his head out of. They fight against the cage with over/unders. Marcello gets the takedown but Proctor threatens with the arm-in guillotine again. Marcello gets out and he's on top in full guard. Proctor kicks him back, but Marcello grabs onto the ankle to prevent Proctor from scrambling away. He wades through the upkicks to get into half guard. Marcello stands over Proctor and gets in a shot before diving back into full guard. Marcello going for an ankle-lock here. He gets Proctor to wince in pain, but the American gets out of it and they're back standing. High-five exchange now. Proctor gets a right in and he's fishing for that guillotine again. Nope. Superkick from Marcello.

10-9 Marcello, but it's close.

Round 2: Slow start to this round. They start leg kicking at about a minute in. Marcello eats a body kick and tries for the takedown. He can't get it. Marcello in on a single that goes nowhere. Proctor with a right. They clinch and Marcello gets in a couple knees. Dirty boxing from both men and they break. Proctor gets a couple of rights in that seem to hurt Marcello. Marcello gets a Thai clinch and a knee in, but he's definitely the worse for wear from that exchange. Right from Marcello. Proctor gets in 3 solid punches. 1-2 lands on Marcello's chin.

10-9 Proctor

Round 3: Dana's regrowing his hair right now so he can pull it out. Two rights from Proctor buckle Marcello. WILL WE GET A FINISH?! He backs up off Marcello who stands. Marcello gets in a left and a knee. Marcello with a right and Proctor gets in a 1-2. He's landing clean now and Marcello shoots for a single that Proctor shuffles away from. Under three minutes to go. Nice right from Proctor hurts Marcello but he's able to compose himself. Three rights here and all land! Proctor can't put Marcello out here and he goes for a takedown. 90 seconds left. Straight right from Proctor. Yet another solid right and the chin is holding up so far. Marcello is exhausted but he's game. It's like Marcello's face is a magnet for Proctor's right hand.

Final result: Joe Proctor wins via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 x2)

155 lbs.: Rodrigo Damm vs. Ivan Jorge

Round 1: Bathroom break? YOU GET NO BREAKS AND LIKE IT! Damm in white, Jorge in black and we get Yamasaki. Jorge with a left and an inside leg kick. Damm with an inside leg kick and a left of his own. Another punch-kick combo from Jorge. Damm gets in a nice left. It's like a mirror, because Jorge gets in a nice left as well. Jorge tries a 3-piece combo but doesn't get anything solid. Right from Damm. Jorge with a body punch. Rights from both men.

10-9 Damm

Round 2: Jorge starts coming forward again. He gets in a headkick. Right and a jab from Jorge who gets poked in the eye. This time we've got a break - there was one last round, but it was brief and Jorge shrugged it off. They flurry on the restart and Damm gets in a good solid one. Now Damm gets poked in the eye. They trade lefts to restart. Damm gets in a second and a third. Knee from Jorge. A leg kick, too. Right from Damm and it backs up Jorge who also lands. Jab from Jorge. 3-2 fro Damm and both connect. Jorge gets in a right. Damm with a short right and he cuts Jorge.

10-9 Damm

Round 3: I could really use some quick fights here. I'm running low on beer. Damm catches a kick and gets Jorge down. Crucifix. Damm with some elbows and he needs to get out of it. He scrambles out and almost instantly gets into a D'arce choke. Damm defends well and manages to stand. They're back to wanging at each other. Damm stuffs a takedown. Jorge blocks another takedown attempt with a Kimura that Jorge defends and they're back standing. Sweet little exchange there. Jorge clinches Damm back into the fence. Jab trade. They're both tired here, arm-punching mostly. Damm lands a low blow. I THINK there's a little acting going on here from Jorge to either buy time or get a point here. No deduction here. Jorge comes in on a single and Damm protects. Left and a right from Damm. Another pair from Rodrigo. Another stuffed single-leg attempt. Jorge gets in a good left.

Final result: Rodrigo Damm wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28 x3)

155 lbs.: Jesse Ronson vs. Francisco Trinaldo

Round 1: We're moving at a fast and furious pace here with all these decisions. Ronson in white, Trinaldo in black/red. We get Peterson again to ref it up. Inside leg kick from Trinaldo to open us up. Ronson with one. Outside leg kick from the man from Brazil. 1-2 from Ronson. Lotta kicking here from both men. Ronson punches his way forward. Trinaldo gets in a nice right, but so does Ronson. Left and a right from Trinaldo both land. "You're gonna die" chant again. Ronson cancels out a Thai clinch with a takedown attempt. Trinaldo defends. Nice uppercut from Trinaldo lands clean. He's definitely landing cleaner when they trade. Hard inside leg kick from Ronson. Trinaldo gets in a hard outside one. Trinaldo almost lands a wheel kick. He does get in a right to close the round.

10-9 Trinaldo

Round 2: Trinaldo with a body kick. Ronson gets a nice outside leg kick, but Trinaldo connects on a head kick. They clash shins on simultaneous leg kicks. Outside and inside leg kicks from Trinaldo. Better head movement and range from Ronson this round, as he's able to avoid much of the striking attempts from Trinaldo. Clinch and elbows from Trinaldo. Ronson gets in a straight right. Trinaldo is winging big punches now and hitting mostly shoulder and hand. He gets back to the leg kick that lands hard. There's a right that lands on Ronson as he comes in. The Canuck fires back with a couple of leg kicks. Takedown attempt from Trinaldo that Ronson sprawls and then whizzers out of. Spinning wheel kick from Ronson that lands. Not a lot of pep on that one, but it connected. They clinch. Trinaldo with underhooks and not doing much with them. They break and re-clinch with Trinaldo getting a trip takedown to end it.

10-9 Ronson.

Round 3: Trinaldo getting a bit straighter and lands some. Ronson hits a left. Ronson with a jab and he stuffs the takedown. Uppercut from Ronson. Trinaldo blocks a high kick and counters with a right. Overhand left from Trinaldo. He gets in a right, too. Ronson misses a big left. Trinaldo gets in a right. Takedown attempt from Francisco that Ronson stuffs initially, but he fails on the whizzer. Trinaldo gets his hands around the back and is firing knees into the right side of Ronson's body and leg. Finally, Ronson gets it to even, but his back is against the cage. Ronson dirty boxes his way out of that. Ronson tries for a takedown. Trinaldo manages to get a double-leg with 15 seconds left and he's probably done enough to earn the nod.

Final result: Francisco Trinaldo wins via Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)

135 lbs.: Yuri Alcantara vs. Wilson Reis

Round 1: I will refer to him as Yuri to avoid confusion. He's in black and Reis is in gray. Osiris de Medeiros is our ref. Wilson lands a good shot. Takedown and a ridiculous scramble that's back and for and up and down and what in the world am i watching?! Finally Yuri settles on top and is getting in some middling GNP. Reis scrambles up and tries for a single that goes nowhere. Clinch. Yuri with a sweet whizzer to land on top after a takedown attempt, but Reis sweeps. He's on top now in half guard. Light GNP and the ref breaks it up after a bit. Ken-Flo expresses his distaste for the standup. Reis punches his way into a clinch and a takedown attempt. Yuri stuffs it. Reis lunged forward for no real reason and ate a straight that put him on his back. Yuri with some GNP, but he shoots for... a leg lock triangle? He's grasping for every limb possible, but it works and they're back standing. Yuri hits a body kick but Reis powers through it into a double and a takedown. Yuri stands and he gets the takedown. He threatens a RNC at the end of the round.

10-9 Yuri Alcantara

Round 2: Both guys are tossing out jabs that are falling well short of the mark. NICE left from Yuri that flattens Reis. Yuri swarming with GNP, but he recovers and threatens with a sweep. He gets it and is now on top. Now HE mounts Yuri less than a minute after getting blasted. Lefts from Reis. He's landing some nice ones whenever he gets some room. Thudding elbow. Yuri turns around to posture off the cage and sweeps Reis. Yuri is on top in full guard. Reis tries an armbar. Reis tries deep half but eats some GNP as Yuri defends. Quarter guard. Half. Full. Yuri getting some shots in. Reis kicks him back, but Yuri come forward and down with a left that connects. Reis sits up and powers forward with a takedown. HE'S on top now. Half, now full guard and getting in some lefts.

10-9 Reis

Round 3: Slow start to this round. They wing lefts that both miss. Yuri gets a left to land this time. He pops a jab and a left a couple seconds later. Reis comes forward for a takedown but it's stuffed by Yuri. Reis tries for a trip but Yuri holds it off with a whizzer. Finally, Reis is able to chain into a single and a finish. Half guard and GNP. Yuri trying to cage walk here and Reis is trying to pull him off. Full guard. Reis gets some posture and hits some punches. 1:30 left and Reis is slowly taking over this round with top control and some solid punches. Couple of boos here, but this isn't a lay and pray by any stretch. Yuri kicks Reis back and stands. Reis clinches him back to the cage. Yuri reverses and Reis is up against the metal. 30 seconds. Yuri with a trip. Yuri trying hard with some lefts. Deep half for Reis.

10-9 Reis.

Final result: Yuri Alcantara wins via Split Decision (30-27 x2, 29-28)

145 lbs.: Felipe Arantes vs. Maximo Blanco

Round 1: I am out of sushi, so this beer needs to last. Arantes in red, Blanco in white/black and we've got Mario Yamasaki as our third. Blanco comes out swinging with a right into a clinch. Arantes shuffles out of it. Nice right from Arantes. Maxi coming forward still swinging into a clinch. Arantes reverses out of it. Blanco powering forward. 1-2-legkick, uppercut, clinch 3 body shots and he sucks the hips in to take down Arantes. Half guard. Full guard and now Arantes stands. Jumping switch kick from the Brazilian (Felipe) misses, but Arantes is now spamming a combo. Mostly missing, but getting in some swings now. Blanco misses a 1-2. Blanco pulls the left leg out of the way of a kick. Blanco has Arantes backed up and is throwing in body shots and uppercuts. Arantes fires back and connects to get Blanco off of him. Arantes tried a spin kick, but Blanco moved forward so he hit him with the calf/back of the knee. 45 seconds left in this fast paced round. Arantes comes forward and hits a right. BIG right and Blanco is down! Arantes tries a rear-naked but can't get it. Arantes swarming with submission attacks, tries an armbar... Blanco gets out and is on top and the round ends.

Not even sure how to score this round. Both guys had big moments. I'll guess 10-9 Alacantara for how the round ended.

Round 2: Well this is a leading contender for fight of the night so far. Right from Blanco. He connects with a huge leg kick that stumbles Arantes to the ground. He pounces and is in full guard. Short ground and pound from the Venezuelan. Arantes tosses up a triangle attempt and Blanco slams him. It doesn't break the lock, so he slams him again! That works, but Blanco just stands back now leery of the guard. He hovers over Arantes briefly but backs off and Yamasaki stands them. Arantes tries a single-leg but can't get him down. Arantes with a jump knee to the body that is met with a jab. Blanco tries an ill-timed leg kick with his back against the cage that Arantes catches. He fires a high kick that tags Blanco's jaw. Blanco ducks under and powers Arantes down. Full guard. Loose full now as Arantes holds him down and Blanco is kinda chilling there, staying out of triangle danger. Blanco with a few elbows. Shoulder bumps from Blanco and Yamasaki stands them up.

Round 3: Arantes gets in a 3-2. Blanco tries for a single that Arantes stuff. Arantes tries for a switch but doesn't get it. Arantes swings big. *POP* That's a cup check. Arantes got tagged in the beans hard. Oof, we've got a point deduction with no previous low blows. They trade jumping and wild kicks here but nothing came of it. Blanco cinches up and gets a takedown. Arantes hits an armbar attempts that's pretty good, but no dice. Omoplata attempt from Arantes that doesn't get in, but allows Arantes to go on the attack. They're standing with Arantes trying for a takedown. He gets the double and lands some GNP here. Blanco shrimps out and is standing. Arantes with a power double shot that Blanco manages to stuff up against the cage. Arantes stalling here. There's an elbow from Felipe. And we break. Blanco fires forward with a left and a leg kick. Arantes pressures forward with strikes and lets Arantes clinch him up. Tick, tick, tick... fifteen seconds left in this clinch. They break and... that's that.

10-8 Arantes.

Final result: Felipe Arantes wins via Unanimous Decision (29-27 x3)

170 lbs.: Ildemar Alcantara vs. Albert Tumenov

Round 1: We've got Tumenov coming out to a chorus of boos. He's in the black trunks. Alcantara in the white with black trim and our ref is Keith Peterson. Alcantara throws a knee to start and Tumenov fires over the top with a right hand that connects. Big right from Alcantara snaps back Tumenov's head. Tumenov hits a nice punch that stumbles Alcantara. More of a slip. Tumenov lets him up and Alcantara promptly takes him down. Tumenov with a nice sweep out of the bottom and into the full guard. Tumenov is powering down elbows. He's landing a lot here. Big lefts now. Tumenov postures up and is feeding him ground and pound like when Homer Simpson went to hell and was fed infinite donuts. Alcantara manages one up kick, but Tumenov walks through it and is back to punching Alcantara's face repeatedly. Alcantara finally kicks him back a bit and uses it to stand. Left from Alcantara and a right from Tumenov. Takedown from Alcantara and we're in full guard. Ildemar lands a nice punch as the bell sounds.

10-9 Tumenov

Round 2: Tumenov catches a knee and lands about 4 punches before Alcantara gets in another knee. Tumenov fights off a takedown and we're up against the cage. Alcantara drags him down. Half guard. Good left elbows from the Brazilian here. "You're gonna die" chants from the crowd. Tumenov gives up his back, rolls into mount, but then sweeps and stands up. Back into the clinch. Alcantara with dirty boxing and some knees to the body and legs. Tumenov still fighting off the takedown and the ref breaks it up. Alcantara ducks under a right and has a takedown in the middle of the cage. Half guard and elbows at the moment. Ildemar has taken something like 4:50 worth of this round.

10-9 Alcantara and I could see arguments for 10-8.

Round 3: Body kick from Alcantara as the crowd cheers and stomps. 1-2 from Tumenov, who manages to connect on the 2. Alcantara went for a kick that got him countered by Tumenov with a right. They trade rights. Tumenov with a solid right that Alcantara manages to ignore. Inside leg kick and a spinning backfist from the Russian. Not really sure why Ildemar hasn't tried a takedown yet, he seems content to kick the body and land solid jabs. Straight right from the Brazilian. There's the duck under from Alcantara, but Tumenov manages to stay standing. Alcantara with a 2-1 and Tumenov with a left.

Closer round, but I'll go 10-9 Alcantara

Final result: Ildemar Alcantara wins via Split Decision (30-27 (?!WTF?), 29-28, 28-29)

145 lbs.: Douglas Silva vs. Zubair Tuhugov

Round 1: Both men a bit flat-footed to start, Tuhugov moving forward. Tuhugov tries a spinning kick to the body, eats a good leg kick. Another leg kick. Silva tries going high but is denied. Tuhugov catches a body kick and briefly takes Silva down, landing a brief flurry before the latter uses the fence to rise. Halfway through the round and not much yet. Spinning backfist cracks off of Silva's forearms, Silva responds with a leg kick. Silva lands a counter right, tries to rush but slips after taking a glancing left by Tuhugov. Silva's opened up over his left eye, but it's small and the doctor takes only a brief look before telling them to continue. Silva avoids another spinning backfist. Tuhugov shoots in and sets up in Silva's guard. Solid ground-and-pound from the Chechen, punches and elbows. Silva pushes him off but eats a flurry as he stands and tries to separate. Tuhugov with a body kick and a missed spinning kick to end the round; Silva's starting to really bleed. 10-9 Tuhugov.

Round 2: Silva's corner looks like it did a solid job on the cut; his face is clear.

High kick from Tuhugov falls short, as does a right by Silva. Body kick from the Chechen. Low kick from Silva, Tuhugov tries a spinning back fist to the face that's blocked. Silva tries one to the body. Douglas lands a lead left uppercut. Another low kick by Silva, he tries to rush and matches offensive flurries with Tuhugov's counters. Tuhugov pushes Silva back with punches and they tie up. Tuhugov nearly gets him down with a gorgeous takedown attempt but Silva limp-legs out. Silva high kick blocked, Tuhugov misses with a spinning kick. Tuhugov stalking forward but takes a left hook. Tuhugov gets a body lock as Silva tries to spin; Silva defending well and manages to worm his way out against the fence. Tuhugov with a counter left hook. Simultaneous spinning backfists, Silva's lands. Tuhugov has one blocked. Round ends, 10-9 Silva.

Round 3: Good lead right by Tuhugov. Counter left as Silva steps in with a right. Zubair shoves Silva down with a side kick to the body but does not pursue. Another counter left by Tuhugov, then a punching rush as Silva tries to counter with an uppercut. Spinning kick by Silva falls short. Big body shot by Tuhugov but a left hook from Silva and he rushes him with strikes. Good exchange. Counter left by Zubair. Spinning heel kick this time from Silva. Tuhugov pushes Silva back again with solid strikes, Silva trying to land a left hook counter to no effect. Tuhugov increasingly aggressive with his rushes and landing well. Silva narrowly missing with hooks and uppercuts. Tuhugov shoots for a double but is denied. Nice right from Silva. Tuhugov gets the body lock and tries to get his back, only for Silva to scramble impressively to his feet. Nice hook by Tuhugov after they re-engage. Silva lead right meets a Tuhugov counter left. Spinning backfist connects for Tuhugov. Silva tries a spinning kick in the last ten seconds and a haymaker at the bell but cannot connect. 10-9 Tuhugov.

Final result: Tuhugov def. Silva by unanimous decision
