Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) passed on a big-money immediate 205-pound rematch when it booked its Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, against Glover Teixiera -- and not Alexander Gustafsson -- to headline UFC 172, which takes place inside Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Md., on April 26, 2014.
Crab cakes!
Nonetheless, the pay-per-view (PPV) event is set up to be solid, with "Bones" charged with snapping the Brazilian's impressive 20-fight mixed martial arts (MMA) win streak. And he'll get the opportunity to try it in a city that is familiar with his surname thanks to his brother, Arthur Jones, who plays defensive end for the local Ravens NFL franchise.
Purple pain FTW?
In other UFC 172 PPV main card action, fellow Light Heavyweight standout, Phil Davis, will welcome Anthony Johnson back to the promotion, while Jake Ellenberger collides with Tarec Saffiedine in a Welterweight scrap and Tim Boetsch looks to club former Strikeforce Middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold.
That's not all.
