He's back! Anthony Johnson vs. Phil Davis booked for UFC 172 on April 26 in Baltimore

And back where he belongs: the light heavyweight division.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight (lolz) Anthony Johnson has returned to the ZUFFA roster and will face off against Phil Davis at the upcoming UFC 172 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place inside Maryland's Baltimore Arena on April 26, 2014.

UFC brought word of the upcoming bout earlier today.

Johnson (16-4) was bounced from the promotion in 2012 after repeatedly failing to make weight as a 170-pounder. "Rumble" promptly went 3-0 on the regional circuit where he was eventually scooped up by World Series of Fighting (WSOF), notching wins over Andrei Arlovski and Mike Kyle, among others.

But he's jumping back into the deep end.

Davis (12-1) has been on the sidelines since summer 2012, after compiling three straight wins over the likes of Wagner Prado, Vinny Magalhaes and Lyoto Machida. The former NCAA Division-1 national champion out of Penn State may not have the hands to bang with Johnson, but he's certainly got the ground game.

Could we see a replay of the Josh Koscheck fight?

UFC 172 will feature the return of 205-pound champion Jon Jones, as he attempts to defend his light heavyweight strap against Glover Teixeira. Elsewhere on the card, Jake Ellenberger will emerge from the injured reserves to scrap with Tarec Saffiedine, while Jessamyn Duke tries to make it two in a row opposite Bethe Correia.
