Official UFC rankings updated after UFC 170: Daniel Cormier makes light heavyweight at No. 6 with barista beatdown

UFC.com has updated its "official" consensus rankings following this past Saturday's UFC 170 event, which includes three contributions from MMAmania.com staff members. Check out the big mixed martial arts (MMA) movers and shakers below.

The latest "official" Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings are out with the conclusion of UFC 170, which took place last Saturday night (Feb. 22, 2014) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Heavyweight import Daniel Cormier made his light heavyweight debut at number six, thanks to his destruction of Patrick Cummins last weekend in "Sin City." While beating up a regional fighter on two weeks notice doesn't tell us a whole lot about what "DC" can do at 205 pounds, it was still good enough to land him in the middle of the pack.

That's not all.

Alexis Davis climbed the women's 135-pound ladder by turning away Jessica Eye in UFC 170 "Prelims" action. The "Ally-Gator" is resting comfortably ahead of former top contender Miesha Tate, but is still playing second fiddle to the sidelined Cat Zingano.

For now.
