Sorry, Amir. Better luck next time.

After schooling upstart Adrien Broner in impressive fashion last year, Argentine slugger Marcos Maidana has won the "Money" sweepstakes, facing legendary undefeated boxing technician, Floyd Maywaether Jr., on May 3, 2014.

This will likely not sit well with England's Khan, who canceled a Dec. 2013 bout with Devon Alexander in the hopes that Mayweather would select him to be his dance partner for the Cinco de Mayo weekend fiesta. Despite escaping his bout with Julio Diaz by the skin of his teeth, he feels that Mayweather is "running scared."

The whinging was all for naught, however.

Floyd (45(26)-0) was last seen trouncing Mexican wunderkind Saul Alvarez in a record-shattering pay-per-view (PPV), despite judge C.J. Ross apparently forgetting her contacts at home and calling it a draw. Maidana (35(31)-3), meanwhile, is riding a four-fight win streak that includes three knockouts, paving the way for his defeat of Broner.

Expect Showtime network to bust out the "All Access" cameras for this one, which will either take place at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, or Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York.

While there's no word on the under card yet, MMAmania will keep you covered through the buildup and provide plenty of coverage of the fight itself.

It's should be a fun one.
