UFC 181 results: Tony Ferguson submits Abel Trujillo

Fatigue makes cowards of men.

Andrew Richardson-USA TODAY Sports

The main card of tonight's (Sat., Dec. 6, 2014) UFC 181: "Hendricks vs. Lawler 2" pay-per-view (PPV) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada kicked off with a lightweight lowdown pitting two fighters, Tony Ferguson vs. Abel Trujillo, looking to add to their respective winning streaks.

Trujillo, known for his power, wasted no time exchanging big punches despite a significant reach disadvantage. Sure enough, within the first minute he scored a knockdown on a hard overhand right.

Ferguson survived the early onslaught and battled back to close the first round strong before firing off submission attempts in the second. By then, Trujillo was visibly fatigued, either conserving his energy for a third and final frame or simply operating with little left in the tank.

It didn't matter.

Ferguson used his conditioning to find an opening, slip his arms under the neck, and score a tap with a rear-naked choke.
