UFC 181 fight card for 'Hendricks vs Lawler 2' tonight

With the last of the pre-UFC 181 formalities in the can -- and all 20 fighters making their respective weights successfully (see complete results here) -- it's now time to countdown to showtime.

In exactly 12 hours (10 p.m. ET), the pay-per-view (PPV) main card will kickoff from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a world Welterweight championship showdown between division kingpin, Johny Hendricks, taking on No. 1-ranked contender, Robbie Lawler.

Hendricks and Lawler already dueled earlier this year at UFC 171, with Hendricks earning a close unanimous decision to claim the belt that Georges St. Pierre vacated in late 2013. Since that time, Hendricks has had surgery to repairs a torn biceps muscle, while Lawler bested division stalwarts Jake Ellenberger and Matt Brown to force a rematch.

"Hendricks vs. Lawler 2" also features a championship co-main event between Lightweight leader Anthony Pettis against former Strikeforce 155-pound chief, Gilbert Melendez. Indeed, UFC 181 is a fantastic fight card that isn't just top-heavy.
