Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Brandon Vera got back into the win column inside Mall of Asia Arena (MOA) in Manila, Philippines, earlier this morning (Fri., Dec. 5, 2014) by polishing off Igor Subora in the co-main event of ONE FC 23 "Warrior's Way."

Vera (13-7, 1 NC) was controlling the stand up for the majority of the opening frame, sending the Ukrainian to the floor with a well-placed left hand. A few follow-up soccer kicks and the ref had seen enough, especially after what happened just a few minutes prior (GIF).

In addition to being the local favorite, Vera was looking for a fresh start to his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, after failing to get the respect he felt he deserved from UFC, where he rose to fame as one of the more talented big men in the early days of ZUFFA.

He's certainly off to a promising start.
