Video: UFC President Dana White ready to negotiate with WWE stars CM Punk and Brock Lesnar

Let's not pretend this is the first time we've heard this.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is a big fan of former WWE champion CM Punk -- real name Phil Brooks -- who left the world of professional wrestling back in July.

After departing the land of make believe, there has been a significant amount of online chatter about whether or not the 36-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) fan would consider crossing over to combat sports, perhaps even as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

White talks to TMZ:

"He is a big [MMA] fan and I like him very much. He's a great dude. I don't know if he can fight or anything like that but sure, I wouldn't mind talking to CM Punk."

We don't know if he can fight, but we do know that he can grapple.

As for the other elephant in the room, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, White is "absolutely" interested in re-signing him. That may take a few months, however, as Lesnar first has to finish out his WWE contract, which does not expire until April of 2015. Then he must convince Lesnar to wear a uniform.

Good luck with that.
