Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight No. 1 contender Josh Koscheck will make his Octagon return against the struggling Jake Ellenberger -- not Neil Magny -- at the upcoming UFC 184: "Weidman vs. Belfort" pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2015 inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
NY Daily News confirmed the booking on Tuesday.
Koscheck (17-8) has been out of the fight game for over a year, taking a much-needed break after a disastrous 2013. "Kos" dropped three straight fights, including back-to-back knockout losses at the hands of Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
The former "Ultimate Fighter" turns 37 at the end of the month.
Not that it has been all wine and roses for Ellenberger (29-9). The wrestling "Juggernaut" also put up a hat trick after three straight losses, including his first-round tap out to Kelvin Gastelum at the UFC 180 event last month in Mexico City, Mexico.
Interesting match up...
UFC 184 features a championship doubleheader in the main- and co-main events, with middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman leading the charge against top-ranked 185-pound contender, Vitor Belfort. Not to be outdone, Ronda Rousey will defend her 135-pound tiara against Cat Zingano in the supporting act.
