Alan Belcher announces UFC return, promises 'big impact' in move up to light heavyweight

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Don't say he didn't warn you.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Alan Belcher is saying goodbye to the 185-pound weight class when he makes his Octagon return in summer 2015, opting for an "easier" weight cut following his self-imposed hiatus.

From his conversation with The MMA Corner:

"I'm eyeing a return in the summer of the coming year. I have my sights on making a big impact when I return to the octagon. I'm thinking I'll return at 205 pounds. I feel more complete at this weight and it's what I feel is right. For the last year I've walked around at 230 pounds. The weight cut to 205 is much easier on my body and allows me to feel better when I fight. I feel stronger and have more energy when I don't make the cut to 185 pounds."

"The Talent" turns 31 in April.

After compiling four straight wins -- all of them finishes -- Belcher (18-8) dropped back-to-back fights to Yushin Okami and Michael Bisping, the latter of which left him with eight stitches, thanks to a "Count" eye poke (see the GIF here).

If and when he does come back as a light heavyweight, who do you want to see him fight?
