Ed Herman vs Derek Brunson re-booked for UFC 183 on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas

Lets give this another shot, shall we?

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Derek Brunson couldn't keep his stomach in check after the rising Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight contender suffered food poisoning prior to his bout against Ed Herman, which was supposed to go down at UFC on FOX  13 on Dec. 13, 2014.

As as result, the fight -- which was set to take place on the "Prelims" portion of the event -- was scratched.

No fret, as the 185-pound contest has been re-booked to take place at UFC 183 on Jan. 31, 2015, from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Sherdog. The pay-per-view (PPV) event will feature a main event fight between former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva taking on the always-dangerous Nick Diaz.

Not a bad consolation prize for Herman and Brunson.

Brunson was last seen defeating Larkin at UFC 177 this past August, while Herman topped Rafael Natal in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 40. A win for either man will go a long way in getting a spot on the official rankings (see the list here).

The fight is still expected to take place on the under card, and judging by their recent war of words on Twitter following the cancelation of their fight, it could be a doozy.

UFC 183 will also feature an intriguing co-main event pitting top Welterweight contender Kelvin Gastelum against Tyron Woodley. In addition, Miesha Tate will look to make it three straight wins as she battles Sara McMann in women's Bantamweight action, while Thiago Alves battles Jordan Mein in what is sure to be a hard-hitting 170-pound match up.

Good times.
