Select mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, including Jon Fitch, Cung Le, and Nate Quarry, among others, gathered earlier today in San Jose, Calif., to announce a class-action lawsuit against Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), filed on Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2014) in U.S. District Court.

While the meat-and-potatoes of the lawsuit were kept under wraps -- including how much the parties intend to seek in potential damages -- the lawyers in attendance helped the aforementioned fighters navigate questions from the combat sports media.

The combat sports promotion is accused of violating antitrust laws and hindering the athletes' ability to earn money. As expected, UFC was not overly joyed to hear about its pending day in court, and vowed to "vigorously defend itself and its business practices" when the time comes.
