Roan Carneiro inks new contract with UFC

Instagram

Longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Roan Carneiro, who captured the BattleGrounds MMA welterweight tournament last October in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is heading back to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the early part of 2015.

The Brazilian shared the good news via Instagram:

"I cannot put in words how I am feeling signing this contract again. Yessssss I am official ufc ufcbrasiloficial again. Thanks God, my family, my team, my fans and people who believe All Those on me and who did not believe too. More news come soon."

A date and opponent for his return have yet to be revealed.

Carneiro (19-9) had a fairly unspectacular run through the ranks of ZUFFA from 2007-08. After a debut win over Rich Clementi, "Jucao" would go 1-3 with two submission losses. Since then, he's 7-1 with four finishes of his own and looks to be (finally) hitting his stride.

Who would you like to see him fight in his return?
