Ben Askren not afraid of Rousimar Palhares, open to grappling Georges St. Pierre in Metamoris

Undefeated ONE FC welterweight champion Ben Askren -- who also held gold for Bellator MMA -- has been keeping tabs on what has been going down in stateside mixed martial arts (MMA), particularly after a busy weekend in combat sports that produced events from both UFC and WSOF.

Or particular note was Rousimar Palhares grisly submission win over Jon Fitch (see the GIF here), one of many painful surrenders induced by the hulking Brazilian. As far as "Funky" is concerned, "Toquinho" is just another guy inside the cage.

From his conversation with Submission Radio:

"I'm going to fight who's a cross the cage for me. So you know if that were to happen and [Palhares] were to come over, let's do it. At this point in my career I'm fairly indifferent to who I fight. If I'm going to claim to be the best fighter in the world I gotta accept all challengers. I've said a bunch of times on twitter I would do [Metamoris], and same thing, I would take on any comers. Let's say GSP or Johny Hendricks. Let's make it fun."

It could happen.

The Metamoris grappling tournament is no stranger to UFC fighters, having recently hosted events featuring Rory MacDonald and Josh Barnett, among others. That would be a good place for Askren to settle his beef with Georges St. Pierre and Johny Hendricks, since Dana White has no love for the wrestling phenom.

Your move, Ralek.
