Sometimes you're the windshield.
Sometimes you're the bug.
Nate Diaz talked the talk but when it came time to back it up inside the Octagon, he ended up a bruised, bloody, broken mess courtesy of Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 13 last night (Sat., Dec. 13, 2014) in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Brazilian clearly entered the bout with a smart game plan that he executed to perfection. It wasn't complicated: Leg kicks, leg kicks, leg kicks! Takedown, ground-n-pound, and then more leg kicks.
By the end, Diaz was thoroughly dominated and resorted to open hand slaps while he was on his back and struggling for air. Considering how much of a headache he's been for UFC President Dana White, the fact that he looked so awful in defeat certainly doesn't bode well for his future.
Hey, maybe this was performance art. Perhaps he was simulating what he believes CM Punk will look like once he finally climbs inside the cage for his first fight.
Either way, Nate Diaz got his ass kicked, Rafeal dos Anjos continued his climb up the lightweight ladder with yet another impressive performance, and Dana White may have the excuse he needs to do away with that headache he's been complaining about.
