UFC 184: Mark Munoz vs. Caio Magalhaes set for Feb. 28 in Los Angeles

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome back!

After more than six months on the sidelines, Mark Munoz has been booked for his Octagon return against Caio Magalhaes at the upcoming UFC 184: "Weidman vs. Belfort" pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2015 inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

MMA Fighting confirmed the booking on Thursday.

Munoz (13-5) has struggled mightily in recent years. "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" was blown away by Chris Weidman in July 2012, before storming back to capture a unanimous decision win over Tim Boetsch. Unfortunately, he couldn't parlay his "Barbarian" win into a run for the middleweight title, and was instead finished by Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi in consecutive fights.

At age 36, this may be his last shot to get something going.

Opposing him is one of the division's top prospects in Magalhaes (9-1). After stumbling in his UFC debut, "Hellboy" has gone on to win four in a row with three violent finishes. Taking a victory over Munoz would undoubtedly pave the way to bigger and better opportunities in the 185-pound division.

Who ya' got?

UFC 184 features a championship doubleheader in the main- and co-main events, with middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman leading the charge against top-ranked 185-pound contender, Vitor Belfort. Not to be outdone, Ronda Rousey will defend her 135-pound tiara against Cat Zingano in the supporting act.
