Bruce Lee once called it, "the art of fighting, without fighting."
Disgruntled Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender Nate Diaz, perhaps walking the trail blazed by older brother Nick, was a no-show for the UFC on FOX 13 open workouts, scheduled for earlier today (Dec. 10, 2014) in Phoenix, Arizona.
The promotion gave no official reason for his absence, according to MMA Fighting.
Diaz is scheduled to face fellow 155-pound standout Rafael dos Anjos on Saturday night's main card (results here). Their bout is significant because it moves the Brazilian closer to a division title shot -- or perhaps further away -- while marking the first bout for the Stockton slugger since going AWOL in late 2013 (because of this).
Not that signing a new contract kept Diaz from airing his grievances. Just last week, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 champion took the promotion to task for its "bitch ass" uniform deal with Reebok, a sentiment echoed by former manager Mike Kogan.
It will be interesting to see if Diaz shows up for Thursday's media day.
Stay tuned.
