The world's pre-eminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion comes to Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil, this Saturday night (Nov. 8, 2014) with another FOX Sports 1-televised special.
UFC Fight Night 56 will feature a main event between a pair of Top 20-ranked Light Heavyweight standouts in former champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (22-9) against Ovince St. Preux (16-6), with the winner looking to get back into the mix in a shallow pool of 205-pound contenders.
Nipping at their heels was supposed to be the Flyweight co-main event that had John Lineker (24-7) trying to make it six out of his last seven against dangerous veteran Ian McCall (13-4-1), who hasn't lost in 21 months and is looking to take his streak to three in a row. But, that 125-pound showdown went up in smoke in the last 24 hours (read why here).
All that and much, much more.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC Fight Night 56 fight card below, starting with the Fight Pass "Prelims" match online, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET, right on through the FOX Sports 1-televised main card, which is slated to begin at 10:30 p.m. ET.
