Cathal Pendred vs. Sean Spencer booked for UFC Fight Night 59 on Jan. 18 in Boston

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added yet another Irish mixed martial arts fighter to its upcoming UFC Fight Night 59 fight card on FOX Sports 1, as Cathal Pendred takes on Sean Spencer inside the TD Garden in Boston, Mass., on Jan. 18, 2015.

UFC announced the pairing on Thursday.

Pendred (15-2-1) missed his chance at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19 crown earlier this year, thanks to Eddie Gordon, but made amends last July by polishing off Mike Green in Dublin. In his sophomore appearance, the "Punisher" Gasan Umalatov in Sweden.

The Irishman hasn't lost in 10 fights.

Opposing him is the venerable Spencer (12-3) who to date, has struggled to stay consistent inside the Octagon. "Black Magic" is 3-2 over his last five and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Paulo Thiago at UFC Fight Night 51 in Brazil.

UFC Fight Night 59 will be headlined by a featherweight fracas pitting top 145-pound contender Conor McGregor opposite dangerous kickboxing veteran Dennis Siver, while Ben Henderson and Eddie Alvarez lock horns in a spectacular lightweight co-main event.
