Hendricks gets in a left. Lawler slips but stands and hits a left. Hendricks with a straight right. Clinch from Lawler, doesn't land much. They break. Another Thai clinch, Hendricks backs him to the cage. Elbow from Robbie. Hendricks with the grind against the cage still. Hendricks drops down, can't get the takedown. Body knees from Lawler. Knee to the face, too. More knees. Double leg attempt, still can't get it. So much for Johny's "much better wrestling". Continuous knees from Lawler to the body. There's one from Hendricks to the chin. Inside leg kick from Johny. Left hand and a leg kick from the champ. Same combo again. And again, but separately this time. Hendricks with a combo and he's punching and kicking with aplomb. There's the takedown with 30 seconds left. Liver shot from Hendricks.

10-9 Lawler

Round 2: Left from Lawler to open. Inside leg kick from Hendricks. Left hand and a head kick that Johny just eats like nothing. There's a leg kick back from Lawler. Lawler with a jab. Rob with a lunging elbow. Big left from the challenger. There's a nice flurry from Johny and he ends it with another leg kick. Nice right and a left from Hendricks. A right into a takedown attempt. Stuffed by Robbie. Knees to the thigh from Hendricks. He's content to batter the leg it seems. John clasps his hands and finally gets the Iowan to the ground. Left from Hendricks before going back to ensuring he's in position. Knee to the body from Hendricks. Lawler to one knee. Now he's up. Front kick to Johny's mouth. Jab from the champ. There's the inside leg kick again. 3-2 from Hendricks. There's a right. Two leg kicks. Solid jab from Lawler. Uppercut from Lawler. Big kicks from both men. Lawler slips to the ground and Hendricks tries a last second guillotine for no apparent reason.

10-9 Hendricks

Round 3: Big leg kick again. Front kick to the body and jabs from the challenger in answer. Nice left, misses the right, huge leg kick from Hendricks. Another nice flurry, ending it Dutch style with that leg kick yet again. Another combo the same way. Hook and a kick. Cross and a kick. Lawler needs to change something up soon. Nice jabs from the champ. Lawler coming forward, but not throwing. Every time Rob comes forward, Hendricks flurries at him and lands repeatedly. Tons of combos here. Lawler is so tough, but this is almost a 10-8 so far. There's the takedown. Lawler trying to keep Hendricks tied down, manages to get back up without taking any damage. Clinch into the face. Another takedown attempt, but Lawler maintains his wide base. Gets it finally with 20 seconds left.

10-9 Hendricks

Hendricks kicks the leg, loops a hook and pushes Lawler across the entire octagon into the cage. Dean breaks it up 90 seconds in. They both trade lefts. Now Hendricks goes back to the punch-punch-kick combo. Lawler just misses on a huge head kick. Lands one to the body. Hendricks again firing back. Jab, jab hook from the champ. John with a jab, Left from Rob.  Takedown in the center of the cage. They're right on the bud light logo. Lawler tying him up well. Lawler trying harder, throwing more now. Dean about to break it.... and there it is at 3:45. Right from "Bigg Rigg". Lawler pushing forward. Couple of body kicks from Lawler and a bunch of punches from John. Sprawl on the takedown, Johny turns it to the cage and we've got "Let's work!" from Herb. There's the break. Two minutes to go. Rights from both men. Hendricks with the single that again turns into wall 'n' stall. Yet another "embracing the grind" remark from Goldberg. Lawler turns a bit and it's the same position as the last round. Big hammerfists from Lawler and Hendricks adjusts. Elbows to the body from Lawler. Finally he breaks free and Lawler is swinging wildly, landing a lot.... punches, kicks... but it's too little, too late for me.
