UFC Fight Night 57 injuries and medical suspensions: 'Big Show' gets big timeout following KO loss

Now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, it's time to find out who's worse for the wear following the carnage at UFC Fight Night 57 this past weekend in "The Lone Star State."

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) sent 24 mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters into battle last weekend (Sat., Nov. 22, 2014) at UFC Fight Night 57 on FOX Sports 1 inside Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and not a single one of them escaped a post-fight medical suspension.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation don't play.

Chief among them is heavyweight wrestler Jared Rosholt, who will have 60 days to find the rest of his teeth after Alexey Oliynyk airmailed his skull back to Arlington. Most combatants were given a few weeks off to clear the cobwebs; however, the commission did not disclose specific injuries.

Here is the full list of UFC Fight Night 57 medical suspensions, courtesy of MMA Junkie:

Frankie Edgar: suspended until Dec. 8
Cub Swanson: suspended until Dec. 23
Edson Barboza: suspended until Dec. 2
Bobby Green: suspended until Dec. 2

Alexey Oliynyk: suspended until Nov. 30
Joseph Benavidez: suspended until Dec. 2
Dustin Ortiz: suspended until Dec. 2
Matt Wiman: suspended until Dec. 2

Yves Edwards: suspended until Dec. 23
Paige VanZant: suspended until Dec. 2
Kailin Curran: suspended until Dec. 23

Juan Puig: suspended until Dec. 23

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
