UFC Fight Night 57 results: Matt Wiman wins decision over Isaac Vallie-Flagg

"Both these guys just fought this fight inside of a blender." - Brian Stann

The main card of tonight's (Sat., Nov. 22, 2014) UFC Fight Night 57: "Edgar vs. Swanson" event at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Fox Sports 1 kicked off with Isaac Vallie-Flagg looking to save his job in a battle against veteran lightweight Matt Wiman.

The action was hot and heavy early on (that's what she said). Vallie-Flagg worked his game, pressuring and pressing Wiman against the fence to wear him down. Unfortunately, "Handsome" used leverage to gain position, earning back control and throwing submissions as the first round came to a close.

Close call.

They got dirty with it in the second round, with both fighters "eating elbows like they're at a buffet," according to color commentator Brian Stann. From the clinch, Vallie-Flagg worked uppercuts. When he finally dropped under for a takedown, Wiman once again made him pay for it by taking his back and threatening from there.

The story remained the same in the final frame. Wiman used his takedown defense to take Vallie-Flagg's back once more. And while he never could score a finish, he did control the action.

Judges scorecards: 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27, all in favor of Wiman.
