Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones is coming to the defense of longtime funnyman Bill Cosby, after allegations surfaced from multiple women that paint the Hollywood icon as a rampaging sexual predator.
"Bones" reacts to TMZ:
"What'd he do? He raped somebody, right? Nah. I don't think Bill Cosby would do that. I've never met him but from what I've seen, he seems to be a class act. I grew up admiring him as a black actor and I really hope that's not true. I mean, he's Bill Cosby, he shouldn't have to take it..."
Jones suggests that a man of Cosby's fame shouldn't have to "take it" because "it" should be made readily available.
Cosby's attorney, Martin Singer, said Friday (via Yahoo Sports) that the claims of women with "unsubstantiated, fantastical stories about things they say occurred 30, 40 or even 50 years ago have escalated far past the point of absurdity."
We'll see what the courts say.
Jones is scheduled to defend his 205-pound strap against Daniel Cormier at the UFC 182 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Jan. 3, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada (more on that here).
