Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler promised his rematch against Will Brooks at Bellator 131 (results), which took place last Saturday night (Nov. 15, 2014) in San Diego, Calif., wasn't going to end up in the hands of the judges like their first go-round.
Well, he was right, but this probably wasn't what he had in mind.
Chandler (12-3) was polished off in the fourth round after Brooks managed to leave him dazed and confused. While there was some initial confusion about the decision to call the fight, Chandler admittedly doesn't remember much about the "weird finish."
From his post-fight conversation with Sherdog:
"It's a loss, it was a hard one to take. I showed up prepared and I wasn't the man who won. I left no stone unturned, I trained as hard as I possibly could and lost the fight. That's what happens. I don't remember much, everything happened so fast. I watched the replay, it looked like I wasn't really able to see. It was weird looking, but that's the fight game. There's a lot crazy stuff going on inside that cage. Get back to the drawing board, and I'll be back and gonna win some fights here."

Chandler -- who has now dropped three straight -- was hoping to get a little more time from referee Jason Herzog before calling the fight. Interestingly enough, Herzog told Sherdog that after watching the replay, he believes he should have stopped it even sooner.
Which side are you on?
