As was the case in the first round, they were patient starting up in the second. Hunt again came over the top with a hard right hand that missed but the message was clear.
A short time later, he found the mark again and Werdum went down. Again, though, it may very well have been a tactical approach, an attempt to lure Hunt into a ground war. The Samoan ducked his head down at the wrong time shortly after and ate a spinning kick for it.
Suddenly, it happened.
A hard knee landed clean and down went ... Hunt?!?
Indeed, Werdum put the big man down and followed up with a series of punches that Hunt was too slow to answer for. Finally, the referee, who had given Hunt every chance to recover, stepped in to stop it.
