Jake Ellenberger vs. Kelvin Gastelum full fight video preview: UFC 180

Kelvin Gastelum's shot at the big time comes tonight (Sat., Nov. 15, 2014) when he brings a 9-0 record into his showdown against a still proud welterweight contender in Jake Ellenberger in the co-main event of the UFC 180 pay-per-view (PPV) in Mexico City, Mexico. Despite his 2-3 record in his last five fights, "The Juggernaut" represents a steep step up in competition for the former Ultimate Fighter winner.

Ellenberger:

"I've been so close to the top, more than a few times. I know what it takes to get to the top. It literally keeps me hungry, it keeps me moving forward and wanting to learn. ... He's tough, he's definitely shown that. A kid like him will really bring out the best in me. It makes me excited because he's got me training for this kind of guy and a certain style for so long, the guys who are willing to wrestle you, the guys who are willing to engage, the guys that I've been preparing for my whole career. It makes for an exciting fight."

Gastelum:

"I don't want to go into a fight saying 'I know I can beat him.' I want a fight that I know I can't beat him so I can work towards beating him. If I knew I was going into a fight against a guy I knew I could beat, I don't get anything from that. I want to be able to fight against the best in the world to be able to challenge my abilities. If I win this fight, I can definitely put myself in a position to ask for those big fights. Someone in the top 5? Who knows. But I gotta concentrate on this fight first. If I wasn't in this sport to be the best then I wouldn't be doing it at all. I know one day I'm going to get there and we'll see where the limits are and we'll proceed from there."
