Oh hey look, another injury.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut of undefeated bantamweight Holly Holm has been put on hold, after "The Preacher's Daughter" suffered a neck injury and was forced to withdraw from her Raquel Pennington fight at UFC 181 next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
SWFight.com has the scoop:
The injury, according to a source, was suffered about two weeks ago during wrestling practice while Holm was shooting for a takedown. Holm later would experience discomfort in the neck and shoulders, and ultimately undergo an MRI.
No replacement has been named at this time.
Holm (7-0) hasn't been seen since a technical knockout win over Juliana Werner last April, a regional bout that left her with a broken arm (pic). "The Preacher's Daughter" -- one of the finest female boxers to ever compete in her weight class -- is expected to be atop a very short list of bantamweight title contenders.
If and when she ever finds her way into the Octagon.
