It's official!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send Alexander Gustafsson into the UFC on FOX 14 main event to battle fellow light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson inside the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on Jan. 24, 2015.

UFC announced the highly-anticipated match up earlier today.

After holding out for a Jon Jones title fight following a blistering technical knockout win over Jimi Manuwa in London, England, Gustafsson (16-2) was benched with an untimely knee injury, paving the way for Daniel Cormier to step in and face "Bones."

"This is going to be an epic event," Gustafsson said in today's release. "I want more than 30,000 fans to come and witness me win on January 24. Then I'm going to go and get the title! My journey back to the top starts now."

That journey begins with Johnson (18-4), who returns to mixed martial arts (MMA) after a brief suspension stemming from allegations of domestic violence. After his case was dismissed, "Rumble" -- now 2-0 in the promotion's 205-pound shark tank -- gets his shot at becoming the new division No. 1 contender.

"This fight might be on his home turf, but I'm ready to go over to Sweden and prove that I'm the next in the line for the UFC light heavyweight title," Johnson said. "I'm not intimidated by fighting in front of Alex's hometown fans. I'm going to go in there and look for the knockout like I do in all of my fights. I can't wait for this!"

UFC on FOX 14 is also expected to feature a welterweight bangfest pitting Matt Brown against Tarec Saffiedine, with "Prelims" bouts likely to air on UFC Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1.
