World Series of Fighting (WSOF) has a new title fight scheduled for Dec. 13, 2014 in Sacramento, Calif., at the McClellan Conference Center. Welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares will put his belt on the line against longtime veteran Jon Fitch.
Fitch takes a two-fight win streak in WSOF into the bout, having last fought 70+ fight veteran Dennis Hallman in the co-main event of WSOF 11 at middleweight. He returns to the weight class where he was a perennial No. 1 contender in UFC before his unceremonious exit in Feb. 2013.
In the co-main event, featherweight champion Rick Glenn will face the 8-1 Lance Palmer in his second attempt to strike gold. Palmer previously came up short in the inaugural WSOF featherweight title bout against Georgi Karakhanyan, but now gets another chance against the man who dethroned Karakhanyan at WSOF 10.
"We are excited to bring the World Series Fighting product to the city of Sacramento for the first time and are looking forward to delivering an incredible night of MMA action to a market where fans have shown tremendous appreciation and enthusiasm for our great sport," said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo in this week's press release.
Two more main card bouts will be announced soon. MSNBC will broadcast all four fights on the main card at 9 p.m. ET on Dec. 13 and tickets are available through WSOF.com.
