Phil Baroni claims he got Email offering Wanderlei Silva fight in Japan

Esther Lin

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight smashing machine Wanderlei SIlva has been banned from mixed martial arts (MMA).

For life.

That's according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), who dropped the hammer on "The Axe Murderer" after Silva blew off a pair of disciplinary hearings (details). And what stands in Nevada usually stands in the rest of the United States, which is what makes Phil Baroni's recent tweet all the more intriguing.

Because Japan gives zero fucks about NSAC and its silly little rules.

The "New York Bad Ass" followed that up on Instagram.

Let the talks begin. #illtakeit

Assuming such an Email exists -- and that it's legit -- it would be a good way for Wandy to get his revenge.

Baroni (15-18) is just 2-8 over his last 10 and coming off back-to-back technical knockout losses in ONE FC and Bellator MMA. Silva (35-12-1, 1 NC) hasn't been seen since decapitating Brian Stann last year in Japan, a place that still holds the Brazilian in high regard after countless PRIDE FC wars.

But would he defy the NSAC ruling and dig his stateside hole even deeper?
