Jose Aldo is set to defended his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight title against top-ranked 145-pound contender, Chad Mendes, later this month (Oct. 25, 2014) at UFC 179 from Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This will be a rematch of their UFC 142 showdown back in Jan. 2012, which ended in spectacular fashion with one second remaining in the first round after Aldo connected with a cartoon-like knee to the face of "Money" that ejected him violently across the Octagon.
As it usually does, UFC has released an extended preview hyping up the much-anticipated pay-per-view (PPV) main event rematch. One that has a bit more juice than the first thanks to a heated exchange at a recent promotional event (watch it here), which has "Money" feeling like he's inside the head of "Scarface."
Time will tell.
In addition to Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes 2, UFC 179 will also feature a pivotal Light Heavyweight co-main event clash between Phil Davis against Glover Teixeira, among other matches.
