Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sat., Oct. 25, 2014 to stage a much-anticipated rematch between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes at UFC 179 (more on that here).
The mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion will also be in Brazil to see if it can find its next bantamweight and lightweight reality star, as UFC announced it will be holding tryouts for season four of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil," which will feature all 135/155-pound contestants.
Tryouts will be held on Oct. 27, 2014 at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio.
TUF hopefuls need to have at least three professional fights to their credit, be between the ages of 18 and 35, and cannot be a former UFC fighter or be under contract with another promotion. The show is scheduled to premiere in March 2015 and will air in Brazil (on Globo), while the rest of the world will have to subscribe to UFC Fight Pass in order to view.
No possible coaches have been mentioned at this time.
The previous edition, TUF: "Brazil 3," saw former bitter rivals and recently-ousted UFC veterans Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen coach middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight hopefuls looking to earn a UFC contract.
Any coaching suggestions for this season?
