The official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings have been updated following the UFC Fight Night 53 event in Stockholm, Sweden, and UFC Fight Night 54 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, both of which took place this past weekend (Sat., Oct. 4, 2014).

Rory MacDonald solidified his spot as the No. 2-ranked welterweight in the world by knocking Tarec Saffiedine in the main event of UFC Fight Night 54 (video here). Meanwhile, in the headlining bout of UFC Fight Night 53, Rick Story outclassed Gunnar Nelson (watch it) to put an end to his unbeaten streak. The win was good enough to catapult "Horror" into the top 15, making his debut on the 170-pound list at No. 12.
While there wasn't and major movement in the divisions, the pound-for-pound list saw a plenty of fighters switch positions.
Here's what the rest of the field looks like after a bevy of changes courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).

Nothing quite ground breaking this time round, but that will change soon thanks to UFC Fight Night 179: "Aldo vs. Mendez," which goes down on Oct. 25, 2014, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which will more than likely cause a shakeup in the 145-pound division.
Depending on the outcome, of course, as well as the "Notorious" special guest.
Until then, give us your thoughts on the latest UFC rankings in the comments section below.
