Mark Striegl returns, set to face Kaiwhare Kara-France in main event of Malaysian Invasion Season 2 Finale

Top Filipino prospect Mark Striegl will be returning after a year-long absence from the sport to take on New Zealand's Kaiwhare Kara-France in the main event of the Malaysian Invasion MMA Season 2 Finale which is set for Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur on October 25th

Striegl (12-1) earned a title shot with Legend FC -- which never materialized -- and went on to challenge for the PXC 145-pound belt last year, getting submitted by Jang Yong Kim in the third round of a contest which was a strong contender for "Fight of the Year."

It was the first-ever loss of the 26-year-old's career, but having won his first 12 fights and beaten some of the better fighters in the region, he remains a sought-after free agent who will be looking to make a big impression in his bantamweight debut and potentially secure a contract with ONE FC or UFC.

Standing opposite him at Stadium Negara will be another Legend FC veteran in the shape of Kara-France (7-4) a well-traveled fighter who has fought in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Taipei, Bandung, and Pattaya in recent years as well as going up against top Australian bantamweight Gustavo Falciroli twice.

In the co main event, UFC veteran Will Chope (20-7) faces an unusual challenge when he takes on local favorite Matt Pellino, who will be making his pro debut. Both Americans have spent time training in Malaysia and there is intense local interest in this open-weight bout.

The card will also feature the finale of the MIMMA Season 2 amateur tournament in which the 2014 winners go up against the champions from last year's competition. It will be available to view online free of charge right here.
