Zorobabel Moreira returns from two-year layoff to face Koji Ando at ONE FC: 'Battle of Lions'

It has been two years since top ONE FC lightweight contender Zorobabel Moreira last fought, but the Brazilian is making a comeback and will be facing Koji Ando at ONE FC: "Battle of Lions" which is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 7th.

Moreira (7-2) was last seen getting stopped by Kotetsu Boku in their fight back in October 2012, which had the inaugural ONE FC lightweight title on the line. He took some time off in the wake of that devastating defeat but recently returned to Evolve MMA and is back in full-time training.

The Brazilian will need to be back to his best when he takes on Ando, who was the reigning Legend FC lightweight champion when the promotion folded last year and is coming off a very impressive ONE FC debut when he submitted the previously undefeated Rafael Nunes in Taipei.

The window of opportunity for Moreira to become ONE FC's lightweight champion probably slammed shut when he was stopped by Boku because a few months later, his Evolve MMA team mate Shinya Aoki captured the belt and looks unlikely to relinquish it any time soon.

That leaves Moreira in title limbo and moving up to 170 pounds to challenge for the welterweight belt isn't an option either, because it's currently the property of another Evolve MMA team mate, Ben Askren. However, there are plenty of big fights for him at 155 pounds with Adrian Pang, Eduard Folayang and Roger Huerta among the current contenders.
