The co-main event of today's (Sat., Oct. 4, 2014) UFC Fight Night 53: "Nelson vs. Story" showcase from the Ericcson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, featured former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) contestant Akira Corassani looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Dustin Poirier against Max Holloway, who came in having won three consecutive fights.
Make that four.
Holloway was his typically aggressive self early, firing away with furiously fast fists that were finding the mark far too often. Corassani, hoping to pull out a victory in his home county, simply couldn't withstand the flurry.
A couple minutes into the first round, the Hawaiian landed a hard combination that put Akira down. He followed up with shot after shot after shot and while Corassani valiantly attempted to continue on, Holloway's onslaught was too much to overcome.
The final result: Holloway wins via knockout at 3:11 of the very first round.
