Georges St. Pierre defends UFO sighting in New Mexico (audio): It came swift towards us ... then changed direction and disappeared!

But he also makes it a point to say that a UFO does not mean he had an alien encounter, he simply witnessed an airborne craft he could not identify.

Paging Giorgio A. Tsoukalos...

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight titleholder Georges St. Pierre was a recent guest on Chael Sonnen's You're Welcome podcast, and the subject of UFC encounters came up. Not because they have anything to do with mixed martial arts (MMA), but rather because "Rush" once told Joe Rogan he saw a flying saucer.

When Sonnen revisited the topic, St. Pierre once again defended his position (via Cagewriter):

"I never talk about aliens. I talk about non-identified flying objects. And if you don't believe me, one day I was in Albuquerque ... with Rashad Evans and [former UFC fighter and former wrestling coach for Evans and St. Pierre] Mike Van Arsdale, a fighter called Alejandro, he's a Mexican guy, and also Ali [Abdel-Aziz], I believe he managed Frankie Edgar. And we're all in the car ... in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the highway, and we saw a UFO all together. I don't know what it was, but it's something that we cannot explain ... it came swift towards us and right away it changed directions and it disappeared."

I want to believe.

Let's also make sure we hold retired UFC fighter and current FOX Sports analyst Kenny Florian responsible for Alien Gate, as "KenFlo" told the UFC Tonight audience that St. Pierre was deathly afraid of martians, something that didn't help the French-Canadian's claims of lost time.

A topic he further explained in detail in the video above (3:00 mark).

So, there you have it. St. Pierre and his crew happened to see an unidentified flying object in the skies over New Mexico and to date, have been unable to explain what it was. Aliens? Secret government aircraft? Tainted mushrooms?

The truth is out there!
