UFC Fight Night 59: Ben Henderson vs Eddie Alvarez fight set as co-main event in Boston

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is doing former Bellator MMA Lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, no favors.

Alvarez, who dropped his long-awaited Octagon debut to top-ranked division contender Donald Cerrone via unanimous decision at UFC 178 last month, will get a second chance to make a first impression against former 155-pound champion, Ben Henderson.

Even though, sometimes, it's "good to lose."

BostonHerald.com broke the good news earlier this evening, revealing that the marquee match up will serve as the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 59, which will take place at TD Garden in Boston, Mass., on Jan. 18, 2015.

While Alvarez looks to get back in the win column after vacating his Bellator belt with an impressive win over Michael Chandler late last year, Henderson, too, is out for redemption thanks to a "controversial" first-round knockout loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 49 back in Aug. 2014.

Both fighters are ranked among the Top 10 in their weight class (Henderson No. 5, Alvarez No. 10), according to the latest round of the promotion's "official" rankings.

UFC Fight Night 59 features a main event between Featherweight sensation, Conor McGregor, who will look to continue his meteoric 145-pound rise at the expense of "midget," Dennis Siver. Other possible bouts include Jorge Masvidal vs. Norman Parke and Uriah Hall vs. Costas Philippou, among others.
