Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has assembled a new light heavyweight main event pitting Mauricio Rua against Ovince St. Preux for the UFC Fight Night 56 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, which takes place on Nov. 8, 2014 inside Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil.
That's because Rua's original opponent, Jimi Manuwa, broke his foot.
Rua (22-9) returns to the Octagon after suffering a devastating broken nose (see the pic here) in his most recent rematch against Dan Henderson at UFC Fight Night 38 back in March. Prior to the "Hendo" loss, "Shogun" scored a first-round knockout win over James Te Huna at UFC Fight Night 33.
It was a comeback of sorts for the former light heavyweight champion, who was reeling after back-to-back losses to Chael Sonnen and Alexander Gustafsson.
St. Preux (16-6) is fresh off a lackluster unanimous decision loss to division grinder Ryan Bader in August. Coming up empty against "Darth" in Bangor, Maine, marks the first defeat for "OSP" in five trips to the Octagon, after compiling a 5-1 record in Strikeforce.
Who takes it?
