Probably because without them, there would be two people in the entire division.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has created a strawweight division and rounded up 16 of the world's top 115-pound female fighters, who are currently slugging it out on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 combat sports reality show. The winner will be crowned strawweight champion at the Dec. 12 live finale on FOX Sports 1 from Las Vegas, Nevada.
As for the rest of the field?
Despite getting eliminated along the way, FOX Sports has confirmed that 15 of the 16 fighters cast for TUF 20 will get a second chance at UFC superstardom, though official match ups won't be revealed until the season wraps in early December.
That leaves Justine Kish out in the cold -- albeit temporally -- as the injured fighter is still recovering from ACL surgery and will not be ready to compete until 2015. The good news is, she is expected to receive a call back once everything is ship-shape.
