Jose Aldo is still the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion after a unanimous decision victory over Chad Mendes in the main event of the UFC 179: "Aldo vs. Mendes 2" pay-per-view (PPV) last night (Sat., Oct. 25, 2014) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mendes proved a worthy challenger, despite the nature of his first defeat, hurting Aldo multiple times across a few rounds. Unfortunately for "Money," the champion would not go down easily. Every time the Alpha Male came close, "Scarface" emphatically shut the door in his face, answering every big shot with one of his own. By the time all was said and done, it was clear who the better of the two was. Does Conor McGregor have any chance in hell of doing what Mendes couldn't? It's hard to tell, but this fight, if nothing else, made clear that it's going to be a hell of a fun time finding out.
