Hey, remember that time Chad Mendes got KTFO by Jose Aldo?
So does "Money," and he has worked long and hard to get that one back when they hook 'em up for a second time at the upcoming UFC 179 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is signed and sealed for this Sat. (Oct. 25, 2014) inside the Maracanãzinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
But it won't be easy.
To help get mixed martial arts (MMA) fans amped for this weekend's 145-pound do-over, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has released a pair of knockout videos featuring both champion and challenger, to give you a taste of what's in store for this weekend.
First up is Aldo (24-1), putting "The Korean Zombie" back in his featherweight grave in the main event of UFC 163.
Impressive.
But Mendes -- once known as nothing more than a muscular wrestler -- has improved by leaps and bounds under the tutelage of master trainer Duane "Bang" Ludwig at Team Alpha Male. Below, "Money" shortchanges the usually-durable Clay Guida at UFC 164.
SWARM!
Sawing through "The Carpenter" was his fourth knockout/technical knockout win over his last five fights, a torrid streak that began in the wake of his defeat to "Junior" at UFC 142 back in 2012. Mendes (16-1) can now avenge that loss and move on to fight Conor McGregor, who promised to tea bag him in 2015.
Yuck.
See you then!
