Manager optimistic that Anthony Johnson will return to UFC once domestic disputes are resolved

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson was suspended from the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion after reports surfaced that "Rumble" was on the wrong end of a criminal complaint filed by the mother of his children.

Soon thereafter, it was also learned that Johnson was involved in yet another another domestic disturbance on March 19, 2014, with a different female. That was enough for the ZUFFA-owned promotion to sideline "Rumble" indefinitely and let the legal system take its course.

According to a report from UFC Tonight, promotion officials are awaiting to see what will come out of Johnson's upcoming civil hearing before they decide what to do with the heavy-hitting fighter.

His manager, Glenn Robinson, is said to be optimistic about the whole situation, and is confident his client will be back inside the Octagon sometime soon.

"He has a civic hearing scheduled for next week. They are hoping to find some answers from that. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is doing their own investigation, but they want to see that play out. He has been accused of some domestic violence, after they see how that plays out, they will decide what to do with him. His manager, Glenn Robinson, is optimistic this will be resolved and he will be back in UFC."

Johnson is due back in civil court next Wednesday.

While the punishment may have been warranted, it came at the most inopportune time for Anthony -- who has denied any wrongdoing -- as he was in the midst of a two-fight winning streak since making his UFC return, and was on the fast track for a title shot after dominating Phil Davis and knocking out Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in back-to-back outings.

Prior to his suspension, a No. 1 contender's fight between "Rumble" and Alexander Gustafsson was close to being a done deal. However, that intriguing match up went up in smoke due to the unfortunate turn of events.

Nevertheless, Team Johnson is confident this will all be resolved and Anthony will soon be back inside the cage doing what he does best.

Stay tuned.
