UFC Fight Night 55: Ross Pearson vs Al Iaquinta co-main event fight set for Australia event

Here's a meaningful co-main event worth watching on Fight Pass ... at the crack of dawn.

Two exciting Lightweight standouts, Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta, are on a collision course to clash in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 55, which is slotted for AllPhones Arena in Sydney, Australia, on Nov. 8, 2014.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) revealed the exciting match up earlier this evening via one of its official international Twitter.com accounts.

Pearson is fresh off the biggest win of his career, a technical knockout finish of former two-time Lightweight title challenger, Gray Maynard, at UFC Fight Night 47 two months ago (Aug. 2014).

"Real Deal," actually, would be on quite the roll if it weren't for a healthy dose of bad luck, including a split decision loss to Diego Sanchez that company president, Dana White, unofficially declared a win and a "No Contest" thanks to an errant Melvin Guillard knee late last year (Oct. 2013).

In fact, he'd be on, at a minimum, a four-fight win streak. Nonetheless, it won't get any easier against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15, runner up, Iaquinta.

The Serra-Longo Fight Team-trained fighter has been on a relative tear of his own, winning four of his last five contests, toppling Rodrigo Damm, Kevin Lee, Piotr Hallmann and Ryan Couture, with his only loss during that span coming at the hands of Mitch Clarke at UFC 173 earlier this year (May 2014).

Certainly not a "Murderer's Row" of opposition, but impressive nonetheless.

UFC Fight Night 55 features a great Middleweight main event between top-ranked division contenders -- and recent sworn enemies (watch their epic confrontation here) -- Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold.
