Is "The Pitbull" trying to pick a fight with Ronda Rousey?
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight titleholder hasn't proven she's the best mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter competing inside the Octagon, but rather the best judo practitioner, according to Bethe Correia (via FOX Sports).
And she expects "Rowdy" to be exposed if and when they finally hook 'em up.
"I already proved to the world that the Four Horsewomen are a big joke. I just need to conclude my work getting the number one, the leader. ... I'm only waiting for the UFC to give me this chance so I can end this group once and for all and show who's the woman that came to stay and will be the only one to retire undefeated. The only thing I recognize [about] her as an athlete is what she did for women's MMA. But even as the UFC champion she still hasn't proven she's the best woman fighter. She just proved she's the best Judo fighter in MMA. I will show I have a more complete, true MMA game."
To be fair, Rousey has ended her last two fights with her fists.
Like the champion, Correia is also undefeated and has already disposed of "Rowdy" training partners Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler. Her recent comments were enough to get Rousey to demand an immediate title defense, but it looks like UFC President Dana White wants that honor to go to Cat Zingano.
Assuming this little wrinkle gets ironed out.
