Video: Josh Barnett's next opponent is Steven Seagal

"Warmaster" takes on the 7th degree Aikido black belt on DVD in Absolution.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender Josh Barnett hasn't fought since eating a handful of Travis Browne elbows and losing by technical knockout at UFC 168 almost one year ago.

His next opponent? Steven Seagal.

Why step back into the Octagon, when you can go straight to DVD in an action movie called "Absolution." The name may be a move away from the usual three-word titles that Seagal movies have become synonymous with over the years, but from the looks of the trailer, it seems to bring all the usual action and one liners from the chubby martial artist and one-time box-office smash.

Better or worse than this?

"Warmaster" appears to be on the right side of the law here, showing up clean shaven and wearing a suit and tie. Seagal plays Alexander, the criminal they are after and he has a henchman working along with him who can clear a room with his fists and feet fairly easily.

"So you are saying one guy did this?" says Barnett's character (no name listed on IMDB), after being informed of several onscreen casualties.

Also in the film is former pro-soccer brawler Vinnie Jones, who has a constant source of amusement and entertainment since coming on the scene in Guy Ritchie's "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" back in 1998.

Barnett's last competition came over the summer at Metamoris 4, where he submitted Dean Lister with only seconds left on the clock in a dominant grappling performance (GIF).

Hopefully, "Absolution" will tide the "Warmaster's" fans over until a future opponent is announced for the 36-year-old veteran.
