Video: Ronda Rousey on Jim Rome explaining why pretty girls don't suck and how death comes before losing

Do ugly girls suck at fighting?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey has a new theory on why pretty girls are better at combat sports. Simply put, if you get punched in the face for a living, but don't have a mark on you, then you must be doing something right.

"They're the ones that don't get hit," Rousey told Jim Rome. "If you think about it, if someone's all gnarled-up, and you're like 'Oh man, they've been through some battles', it's like yeah, they suck! They've just been hit a bunch of times. If I'm coming out looking fine, then I'm probably the better fighter."

Interesting.

Aside from breaking down the skills of pretty fighters, "Rowdy" also went into detail about her undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) career, which came after her long and successful run on the judo circuit. One that taught her what losing feels like.

Worse than death, apparently.

"With Liz Carmouche, I thought I could die for sure. I blocked a choke so she turned it into a neck crank. I felt my jaw dislocate and I was thinking I would rather break my neck than lose this fight. Have you even lost the Olympics? I would rather die than lose. I know that feeling so well. It's not that I've never lost. I've lost at the worst time so I know what a loss is. That's why I want to win so much more than these other girls. It feels like dying to me. I'd rather die."

Rousey is expected to fight Cat Zingano at UFC 182 this January in Las Vegas (more on that fight here).
