Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson Silva, one of the greatest mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters who ever lived, will finally make his return to the Octagon for a special five-round main event "super fight" against fellow combat sports veteran Nick Diaz.
Where and when?
The UFC 183: "Silva vs. Diaz" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan. 31, 2015. That's just over a year since we last saw "The Spider" on the Octagon floor, writhing in pain from a splintered shin.
But you can't keep a good man down.
To help bring fans up to speed on his recovery (more on that here), Silva will hold a special UFC 183 pre-fight conference today (Tues., Oct. 14, 2014) inside the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. That's where he'll discuss his injury, what he expects from Diaz (who endured his own lengthy layoff), making another run at the middleweight title, and much more.
Be sure to stop by at 1 p.m. ET for the live press conference video stream (embedded above) and for more on the upcoming UFC 183 PPV extravaganza click here.
